Tiny Room, Big Views, and Snacking on the Rooftop!

After a super long 17-hour flight with some annoying delays, we finally made it to Japan! Yep, 17 hours is a heck of a long time, but honestly, it didn't feel that bad. I managed to squeeze in three movies and knocked out for most of it, and just like that, we were in Japan. We did have a quick pit stop in South Korea before landing in Narita, Japan.

As soon as we landed, things started moving pretty fast. I'd booked a taxi beforehand, and the communication was top-notch, which was a relief. But let me tell you, the moment we stepped out of the airport, it hit us like a ton of bricks – the heat and humidity were off the charts. It was 6 o'clock, and it felt like 28 degrees with a crazy 85% humidity. I legit thought I was going to melt. Seriously, this felt worse than a hot summer day back in the Netherlands.

Upon arriving at our hotel, Amanek Asakusa Ekimae, we were greeted by incredibly friendly staff. However, there was a slight hiccup - our room turned out to be much smaller than we had anticipated. It felt more like a single-residence space with a double bed squeezed in for both of us, creating a rather cramped setup. We had two massive suitcases and our backpacks, and it was like a game of Tetris fitting everything in there haha. But, you know what, I always remind myself that cleanliness is key, and I'm not planning on lounging around the hotel all day. It's just a place to sleep and get refreshed. Time to hit the streets and explore!

Oh, and by the way, the hotel has this cozy little rooftop spot, and wow, the view is just breathtaking. We even have a nice view of Tokyo Skytree. We grabbed some delicious food and snacks from FamilyMart and enjoyed them on the rooftop. It was the perfect start to our adventure in Japan!

After a quick freshening up, we got into our PJs and crashed into bed. We were absolutely exhausted and overflowing with excitement for our Japan exploration the next day!
